Master Plaster Aroma Stone Recipe & Procedure
Studio Equipment Needed: Digital scale, rubber mixing bowl or paper cup, wooden mixing stick, silicone mold, purified water, fragrance/essential oil, and Olive Liquid (emulsifier).
- Water & Scent Preparation: Accurately weigh 30g–35g of purified water into your mixing bowl. In a separate container, blend 3g–5g of fragrance oil with an equal amount of Olive Liquid (to ensure oil emulsifies seamlessly into water without separation), then mix thoroughly into the water phase.
- Adding Plaster: Slowly sift 100g of white plaster powder into the water. Allow the powder to naturally sink and saturate for 20–30 seconds.
- Gentle Stirring: Stir steadily in one consistent direction with a wooden stick for 1 to 2 minutes. Avoid vigorous beating to minimize entrained air bubbles until a silky, creamy consistency is achieved.
- Mold Pouring & De-airing: Pour the smooth slurry steadily into your silicone mold. Gently tap the sides of the mold on your work surface or vibrate the base to dislodge any surface micro-bubbles from intricate relief carvings.
- Demolding & Finishing: The plaster will undergo a natural exothermic reaction (becoming warm, then cooling). Once completely cold and firm (approx. 40–60 minutes), gently flex the mold to release the stone. Allow to air-dry completely for 24 hours before packaging.
Safety & Handling Precautions
- Avoid inhaling airborne fine powder dust; wearing a dust mask during dry measuring is recommended.
- Wash hands and equipment thoroughly with water immediately after handling. Do not wash thick leftover plaster sludge down household sink drains (dispose in waste bin to avoid pipe blockages).
- Store in a dry location sealed inside its moisture-resistant bag. Keep away from humidity and out of reach of children.
